Brown Health Services is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our staff as the Assistant Clinical Director. Reporting to the Clinical Director of Health Services, the position provides primary medical care and health education to students. The administrative responsibilities include establishing and communicating clinical protocols and policies.  Also, collaboratively plans and coordinates operations at Health Services, including accreditation and Quality Improvement processes.  Develops clinical templates in the electronic health record to optimize documentation and clinical care.  Serves as a clinical liaison for Health Services clinical staff and select campus partners. The position also provides clinical supervision for nurse practitioners and a dietician.

This is a full-time, 12 month position, including some evening and weekend coverage during the academic year.

 

Health Services, an accredited AAAHC health center, offers comprehensive primary care services to more than 9,000 students, providing 31,000 annual visits. Services available on-site include primary and urgent medical care, dietician visits, laboratory, x-ray, pharmacy, and immunizations.  Other departments under Health and Wellness include Counseling and Psychological Services, BWell Health Promotion and Emergency Medical Services.

 

Qualifications:

 

Required:

  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Master’s degree in Nursing
  • Current RI RN licensure and RI Certified Nurse Practitioner license with prescriptive privileges (CNP); DEA license
  • Current certification as Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or equivalent certifying body
  • 5 years primary care experience as a Nurse Practitioner and experience working collaboratively in a group clinical practice
  • 1 year experience as a manager in the clinical area, and as part of a team of healthcare managers.  Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Experience with developing and updating evidence based protocols for clinical staff
  • Excellent written, oral and technological communication skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse campus culture

 

Preferred experience:

  • College health experience or working with a young adult and/or adolescent population
  • Clinical experience with eating disordered patients
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Improvement and accreditation principles.
