Position is full-time calendar year, and is limited to 05-12-2018 with extension contingent upon funding approval.
Assist in performing non-routine research work. Conduct experiments and analyze data on materials or specimens under minimum supervision. Conduct research on marine plankton, including culturing of microalgae and application and analysis of molecular methods including PCR and DNA sequencing. Perform computer tasks related to scientific data processing, analysis, and interpretation, including analysis of high-throughput sequencing data; preparation of presentation materials; report writing, and data archiving. Participate in oceanographic research cruises. Handle and maintain technical instruments required for performance of experiments. Maintain laboratory safety. Perform other duties, as assigned.
