Post Graduate Clinical Social Work Fellow

The Post Graduate Social Work Fellow provides clinical mental health services to Swarthmore students and consultation to Faculty, Staff and Parents. Main responsibilities include the following: Provides assessment, diagnosis and psychotherapy for students; Collaborates with consulting psychiatrist and WHC medical staff; Acts as a psychological consultant to parents, faculty and staff; Provides training to RA's, other peer-helper groups and staff; Provides after hours emergency on-call coverage; Arranges off site inpatient hospitalization when necessary. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
Master's degree in Social Work and minimum of one-year experience working in college counseling center. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to build successful relationships with constituents, coworkers, faculty members, administrators, students, and others.
  • Demonstrate and maintain technical knowledge of the job and of related procedures and policies in order to provide quality support to the department and its constituents.
  • Must be able to independently contribute ideas and process improvements, and look for creative solutions.
  • Must be able to communicate in English, including the ability to speak in public.
  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment, including computer, printer, copier, calculator, and fax machine.
  • Must be able to use Titanium software
  • Must be able to speak on the telephone.
  • Available after hours and weekends as necessary

Preferred:

  • Ability to use Titanium scheduling software
  • Experience working in an undergraduate liberal arts institution
  • Experience with psychodynamic treatment modality
  • Experience with facilitating group therapy

This is a 9-month position with an effective date of July 1, 2017 or after.
