The position involves the set-up and removal of laboratory and demonstration equipment for the instruction of physics and physical sciences courses at all levels.

Days and Hours (for hourly position):
Actual schedule will be determined by the course schedule/dept heads. Hours maybe adjusted as needed to accommodate special projects.
Job Specifications:
Associates of Science degree or equivalent in physical science or physics with a major emphasis in laboratories; experience in applying safety procedures common to physical science or physics laboratories such as preparation of chemical solutions, the routine repair of electronic, electrical and mechanical equipment, and the maintenance of microcomputer hardware. Individuals who have a background in controlling telescopes from a remote computer server preferred.
Job Duties:
1. Organize and maintain equipment.
2. Repair mechanical and electronic devices
3. Use computer assisted data acquisition and reduction techniques in the physics laboratory.
4. Work with faculty and staff to ensure smooth operation of physics teaching.
5. Keep track of the lab supplies and order necessary equipment and supplies upon discussing with faculty members
6. Assist in the development of new laboratory procedures.
7. Maintain a safe laboratory environment.
8. Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
