General Summary:
Provide technical assistance and support faculty, trainers and students with online learning initiatives.

Work location and additional information:
Temporary part-time 25 hours/week. This is a temporary part-time position lasting an unknown length of time. Anticipated length is 3 months.

Campus: Office of College Services

Days and Hours (for hourly position):
This is a temporary grant funded part-time position with option for medical benefits at full employee cost.

Job Specifications:
Associate's degree in instructional technology, information science, computer science, or related computer area and minimum three years related work experience or Bachelor's degree (preferred) with at least one year related work experience. Extensive Blackboard, web authoring, Intranets/Extranets and/or web technology experience preferred. Experience in multimedia production, course design, or curriculum design preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be detail orientated and have a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Job Duties:
1. Provide training services and tier 2 (second-level) technical support to Online Learning students, faculty, and staff on CCAC's course management system (i.e. Blackboard); respond to inquires/questions, troubleshoot problems, add/remove students from Blackboard sites/sections.
2. Serve as a resource for course management system support and Online Learning initiatives; occasionally provide on-site training for faculty or lead Online Learning student orientation.
3. Explore and provide updates on course management system updates to Distance Learning staff and faculty. Remain current with software and technologies supported by Distance Learning. Arrange for Online Learning to preview material and vendor demonstrations as needed.
4. Develop or assist the development of media or applications required for Online Learning initiatives.
5. Maintain accurate, organized, and detailed records and develop and maintain reports and statistics as required or assigned.
6. Assist with the maintenance of the Distance Learning websites.
7. Create, edit, and maintain publications and documentation, including brochures, manuals, guides, flyers, and handbooks.
8. Maintain FAQs and database of instructional software problems and solutions.
9. Be available on an on-call basis and be able to access Datatel and Blackboard when on duty.
10. Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
