Position Title: PROJECT MANAGER, COMMUNICATIONS & EXTERNAL AFFAIRS

Duties:

Manage VPUL creative communications and other special projects in all media, including interpersonal, print, web, audio, video, interactive, and other online content. Effectively oversee graphic design project coordination, resource allocations, staffing, scheduling, logistics, and budgeting. Conceive, execute and publish selected multimedia communications. Organize and provide multimedia education and training for VPUL staff and departments. Build effective relationships with key division staff, including central leadership and directors, to help guide divisional communications and outreach direction, facilitate information sharing, create synergies, and ensure maximum efficacy for VPUL strategic projects. Position reports to the Executive Director, Communications and External Affairs (EDCEA).

Qualifications:

BA/BS plus 3-5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, administrative and marketing communications or public relations experience with strong portfolio of graphic design, photography and multimedia production; must have excellent communication, grammar, organizational skills; including the ability to compose and edit documents and websites. Demonstrated advanced technology and computer skills in multiple applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Proficiency with desktop design, publishing, and website editing applications such as Illustrator, PhotoShop, InDesign, or DreamWeaver, a plus. Must have ability to work well with diverse constituents. Tact and sensitivity in working with confidential materials required. Must be willing to work as part of a team, be able to handle multiple projects and competing priorities. Ability to manage both short and long-term deadlines.
