Large Animal Emergency and Critical Care, Assistant/Associate Professor Clinici

The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine seeks candidates for faculty positions in Large Animal Emergency and Critical Care Medicine and Surgery, in the Clinician Educator track. The successful candidate(s) will be DVM / VMD or equivalent, Board Certified in ACVECC , or boarded in ACVIM and/or ACVS with demonstrated experience and expertise in Critical Care. The faculty member will have primary responsibility for providing senior coverage in the New Bolton Center emergency service, which includes both daytime and after-hours coverage of equine and farm animal emergency cases. In addition to serving as the attending clinician on emergency admissions and critical care cases, the faculty member will be responsible for training residents, interns, and veterinary students. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in the medical and surgical management of large animal emergencies, with proficiency in equine abdominal surgery (colic) and/or an interest in critically ill neonatal foals. Candidates with expertise in one of those two areas are also invited to apply. The effort devoted to scholarly activity will depend on the interests of the candidate and the faculty track in which the candidate is enrolled, but the emphasis of the position will be clinical service and teaching.
