Peirce College invites qualified candidates to apply for the Competency Based Education (CBE) Coach, Information Technology position reporting under Academic instruction. The position is responsible for effective communication with and support of CBE students in the rate at and extent to which they master their degree program’s competencies. The CBE Coach provides direct service, outreach, and support to CBE students; collaborates with students, faculty, and student services toward the goal of effectively meeting individual student needs as they progress through their program to completion; provides technical support; and  liaises with other CBE team members to improve and extend the program. Duties also include: developing, managing, facilitating, and documenting regular contact with students enrolled in the CBE program; participating in new student orientation sessions; ensuring students are provided with an individualized plan that identifies their current academic status and steps required to reach their academic goals; monitoring students’ academic progress and  implementing retention and completion strategies, as necessary; assisting students in the development of effective problem-solving skills, self-advocacy, decision making, and personal responsibility; connecting students to specialized resources that will assist them in the goal of completing the information technology degree; working with students to develop and update academic and professional plans; and assisting with students’ college transition and professional mentorship.

 

Requirements are a Master’s degree in a computer related discipline or related field preferred; a minimum 2 years’ experience working in higher education, academic advising, and/or instruction; excellent skills for creativity, vision, interpersonal skills, as well as problem identification and solving; demonstrated ability to develop and deliver instruction to groups and individuals; demonstrated ability to provide superior customer to all students while being resourceful and attentive to their needs; strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills; Additional requirement include excellent team building and teamwork skills; ability to multitask effectively, coordinating complex, sometimes unrelated workloads and tasks with minimal supervision; strong problem solving capabilities; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Windows operating system, Internet searches, and database reporting; ability to learn and teach new software applications; basic knowledge of computer networking systems; HTML and basic web design a plus; and a willingness to attend professional development opportunities to remain current in the changing environment of technology.
