Job Overview:
The Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics Department at Drexel University is seeking to fill multiple tenure-track faculty positions starting fall of 2013. Priority will be given to candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
1. Computational Solid Mechanics: Specific areas include, but are not limited to, emerging computational methods with emphasis on sub-continuum scale simulations and high performance computing for multiscale mechanics of novel materials.
2. Sensing and Instrumentation: Specific areas include, but are not limited to, biosensors, bio-instrumentation, cell/tissue-on-chips, bioreactors, high-throughput single cell analysis, medical diagnostics, and implantable devices.
3. Advanced Manufacturing and Design: Specific areas include, but are not limited to, scalable micro/nano-manufacturing, sustainable design and manufacturing processes, engineering systems design, and modern design methodologies.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have an excellent academic record and be committed to education, research and service. Creative and adaptable candidates with a high potential for both teaching and research are being sought. Candidates for the rank of Assistant Professor should have received or expect to receive their Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, prior to August 2013. Candidates for the ranks of Associate or Full Professor should have a distinguished record of research and educational activities as well as a strong funding history
