Bucks County Community College invites nominations and applications for the position of Provost.

The Provost reports to the President, serves as the chief academic officer of the College and is responsible for educational policy and academic programs. Duties include assessment of student learning and advancement of student success, program and curriculum development, accreditation and self-evaluation, program review and improvement, academic personnel decisions, budget development, course management, fiscal accountability and sustaining the quality of teaching and learning. The Provost fosters, supports and enhances a student-centered academic environment which frames the College’s mission and vision.

Bucks County Community College was founded in 1964. Today, Bucks serves nearly 11,000 credit and 40,000 non-credit students. Classes are held at the College’s beautiful 200-acre campus in Newtown Township, the Upper Bucks Campus in East Rockhill Township, the Lower Bucks Campus in Bristol Township and as part of a robust Virtual Campus. The College is organized into six academic departments that include: Arts; Business Studies; Health, Physical Education and Nursing; STEM; Language and Literature; and Social and Behavioral Science. In addition, the Learning Resources department provides academic support services which promote access and deepen the College’s reach.

Bucks County Community College combines traditional academic disciplines with flexible educational programs preparing students for a future of technological and social change. The College is known for its high quality academic offerings, commitment to workforce development, and emergency services training. The College is a cultural hub with the Hicks Art Gallery, annual Poet Laureate competition and many artistic and cultural events.

The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced leader, scholar and administrator with a clear, focused commitment to teaching, learning and academic excellence to promote student success. A terminal degree is required along with substantial college teaching experience. Progressive academic administration record with evidence of significant accomplishments, accreditation experience, and a demonstrated commitment to assessment and accountability are essential. The successful candidate will be a strong and effective academic leader who has vision, a strategic perspective, excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to lead a growing, complex institution as part of a collaborative senior leadership team.
