Starting Salary Range: 2016-2017 salary range - $51,897/yr to $89,991/yr. Initial Salary Placement up to Step 3 ($55,596) will be based on related experience, per PCC's collective bargaining agreement.

We are looking for outstanding candidates for full-time probationary Automotive Service Technology faculty position starting Fall Term 2017, located on PCC's Sylvania Campus.

The Automotive Service Technology program at PCC offers students the opportunity to become a skilled automotive service technician, providing them with the fundamental skills necessary to succeed in an ever changing and challenging industry. The National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF), an arm of the industry certifying body, Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), accredits both our degree and certificate.

Responsibilities/Duties:
* Instruct students in Automotive Service Technology, using approved Course Content Outcome Guides developed by college-wide subject area Faculty; assess student performance in these courses.
* Repair training aids, automobiles, and shop equipment.
* Attend and participate in college-wide, campus/center division, department, and program meetings and activities.
* Serve on Subject Area Committees and/or such other College committees as may be assigned.
* Assist in the recruitment of students.
* Provide registration, advising, and guidance assistance to students.
* Provide professional assistance to staff and students.
* Provide information and assistance on College operations as may be requested.
* Compile and/or research data as may be assigned.
* Provide services to students in a manner which does not discriminate as to race, creed, religion, color, national origin, disability, age, sex, sexual preference or martial status.
* Remain current in the field of Automotive Technology.
* Maintain College safety standards in their work areas; ensure that students are trained in good safety practices; and make reasonable efforts to ensure that students follow good safety practices.
* Comply with published College Policies and Procedures.
* Perform other related duties as provided in Faculty Agreement.

Minimum Qualifications:
The qualified candidate will meet ALL of the minimum requirements for EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE as shown below:

EDUCATION
- Associates Degree or higher from an accredited institution or the successful completion of an accredited Certificate with the commitment to complete an Associate's Degree prior to the end of probation, and

- Possession of all 8 ASE's, or a minimum of 6 ASE's with the commitment to complete the remaining certificates by the end of probation. Must obtain Maintenance and Light Repair (G1). Advanced Engine Performance (L1) must be obtained if teaching Auto Shop Lab or Engine Performance Courses.


EXPERIENCE

Any combination of five year's full time (or equivalent part time) teaching and paid work in an automotive repair facility, and have:

- Experience living/working in multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment.

- Current and Valid Driver's License with clean driving record with the ability to complete PCC drivers training.

- Ability to operate typical automotive machinery and complete training for new equipment as necessary.

Special/Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated computer literacy and familiarity with computer-based applications such as Web-based email applications, Web browsers, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint (or equivalent), and/or online databases such as Mitchell, ProDemand, and/or AllData.

- Demonstrated recent relevant automotive (repair) experience (from bumper to bumper)

- Demonstrated history of using interpersonal communication skills in working with customers, coworkers, employees, and/or supervisors.

- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of audiences.

- Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of innovative approaches to teaching, mentoring, and/or coaching within the workplace or an academic/technical environment.
