The Swan Island Trades Center is a 20,000-square-foot facility housing the college's Apprenticeship and Trades department (Facilities Maintenance Technology - HVAC/R, Electrical Trades/Apprenticeship and Fiber Optics). The Center and nearby Cascade Campus, along with expertise from PCC's CLIMB Center for Advancement, coordinate continuing education, training, retraining and professional development for Swan Island businesses at this location.



Offered at Swan Island are the Facilities Maintenance Technology two-year degree; Facilities Maintenance Technology and HVAC Installers certificates; Millwright, Industrial Mechanics, Limited Maintenance Electrician, Manufacturing Plant Electrician and Stationary Engineer apprenticeships; and the Limited Building Maintenance Electrician training program.



The ISTII will support faculty, students and staff in this amazing learning environment. The IST will provide support to faculty to ensure the labs and classrooms are equipped and running smoothly and support students as they progress through their learning.

These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position.
Throughout the screening process, you will be evaluated based on the demonstration of these qualifications.- Demonstrated knowledge of the HVAC and Electrical industry and how refrigeration and heating works
- Demonstrated hand and power tool experience
- Demonstrated experience negotiating with vendors
- Demonstrated cultural competence and commitment to supporting diversity and equity.Minimum QualificationsTo be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).High school diploma or equivalent and two years of post-secondary education in a trades-related discipline. (experience performing the duties of the position may substitute for the post-secondary education requirement on a year-for-year basis). One year of experience supporting laboratory activities in a trades-related discipline is required;

Must have proven communications skills adequate to assist students in understanding the work they are to perform.Preferred QualificationsSalary:
The first two steps of the range are: $34,480 to $35,511 per month. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity.

- Starts at 6.67 hours of vacation leave per month (additional vacation hours with years of service)
- 8 hours of sick leave per month
- 24 hours of additional personal leave days per year - 11 Paid holidays
