Job Summary
The Financial Aid Coordinator provides financial aid services to students on a district-wide basis, direct leadership for financial aid advising staff at the PCC Sylvania campus, and service to the entire campus community and constituents.
The Coordinator will conduct student needs analysis, perform federal verification and packaging of student aid, certify federal loan eligibility, provide financial aid advising, make professional judgment decisions regarding student aid eligibility, adjudicate satisfactory academic progress appeals, provide group presentations, and facilitate problem solving with students and parents, requiring significant experience and expertise with Title IV programs, as well as the capacity to understand and work with institutional and state programs.
The candidate selected for this position will also need to understand and work with students and staff from diverse backgrounds, and consider issues of equity in designing processes, setting expectations for staff, and serving as a representative of PCC and the financial aid office.
The FA Coordinator is also expected to have oversight responsibility for one or more programs pertaining to federal/state programs or office operations, including but not limited to Federal Work Study, R2T4, scholarships, or similar.

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Education, Computer Science, Social Science, or related field. Experience performing the duties of this job may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Demonstrated experience in student financial aid directly related to financial aid counseling, eligibility determination, needs analysis, verification, and packaging required and/or assisting veterans.
Experience with personal computers and online data systems required.

Starting Salary Expectations
Starting Salary: $50,414 to $54,003 (Step 3); based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
Position Grade Salary Range

Working Conditions and Physical RequirementsWork is typically performed in an office environment. Extensive use of a computer requires long periods of sitting at a desk and reviewing student files. Work also involves college and outside community outreach activities.
Physical exertion is not a normal activity of this position.
