Opportunity to provide strategic and project planning, capital prioritization, and stewardship for Kent State University’s land, building, space and continuously changing portfolio which is comprised of 10 locations, 2,500 acres and 8 million gross square feet. The Facilities, Planning and Operations department has approximately 300 employees and an annual budget of more than $20 million. The main areas of responsibility include: facilities master planning, capital project planning and construction, facilities operations, infrastructure maintenance, sustainability and energy management. Exercise leadership over the complete facilities lifecycle: planning, design construction and operations management. Ensure that the goals of the university’s strategic road map are supported by adequate infrastructure, appropriate capital planning, construction planning and design, and facilities operations.

 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, business or relevant field.
Minimum of 10 years progressively responsible experience in the fields of facilities management, building management, or design and planning for large scale projects, including a minimum of five years’ experience in management of a complex physical plant environment that includes design and construction of facilities. Professional licensure in Architecture or Engineering, Master’s degree in business, engineering or related field and prior experience with labor unions preferred.
