Job Description:

Duties as listed do not indicate order in terms of importance, frequency that the duty is performed, or the amount of time spent on the duty.
1) Serves as the primary budget support for the VP, the administrative support of that VP, and all departmental cost center managers of the assigned Executive Offices by providing guidance on budget, reports, budget transfers, and accounting/financial issues and assignments.
2) Maintains close working relationships with VPs of assigned Executive Offices and other necessary staff within assigned Executive Offices.
3) Learns the programmatic objectives of the assigned Executive Offices as necessary to effectively provide budgetary support.
4) Assists the assigned Executive Offices and Resource Planning & Analysis (RPA) Office with budget development, projections, monitoring, maintenance and reconciliation of budgets between departments, position control, policy compliance, forecasting and long-range planning, interpretation of financial reports and effectively facilitating and communicating issues.
5) Attends Executive Office/department meetings as necessary.
6) Assesses budget performance by; reviewing data, tracking performance benchmarks, performing analytics and identifying and resolving variances, researching and summarizing explanations for any material variances.
7) Serves as primary coordinator of training for RPA.
8) Assesses training needs, with Assistant Director of RPA, and develop program content.
9) Develops training using various platforms, methods and means.
10) Integrates training with the Professional Development and Retention unit for a holistic approach to training.
11) Works with RPA personnel and others as necessary to facilitate training course sessions.
12) Works with other units/departments within Business Services to provide cross-training for new cost center managers and others who request training.
13) Provides financial analyses and research support to and on behalf of the RPA department.
14) Works closely with Financial Analysts and program leads to provide needed analyses and research.
15) Aggregates and summarizes data as needed for analyses and presentations.
16) Facilitates and develops other special analyses or manages projects as they relate to resource planning which may include cost and enrollment modeling, simulation methods and financial forecasting.
17)Performs duties and responsibilities in a timely and complete manner with minimal supervision.
18)Works assigned schedule, exhibit regular and predicable attendance, show initiative, and be self-directed on work tasks.
19)Performs other related duties as required

While performing duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. The employee frequently sits for extended periods of time, and occasionally stands and walks. Employee converses verbally with others in person and by telephone. Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employee occasionally lifts up to 10 pounds.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
Knowledge of:
policy development and implementation; generally accepted accounting principles; fund accounting; financial and managerial accounting; retail accounting and operations; analysis of financial statements and operational benchmarks; administration of grants; general ledger management; accounts payable and receivable administration; computer software, programs and applications. 

Skill in: verbal and written communications; planning; scheduling and organizing work; preparing financial reports; working with detailed data; financial analysis, modeling and forecasting; operating general office equipment; application of job software including word processing and spreadsheets. Strong technical skills that allow analysis and presentation of financial data using advanced spreadsheet and database tools. 

Ability to: apply management principles to practical work situations; apply accounting principles; develop and maintain ef fective working relationships with associates, job contacts and general public; answer general and technical accounting and budgeting questions; research and analyze financial issues; perform detailed work with numerical data; maintain accurate and complete work records; maintain confidential and sensitive information; and ability to work under pressure with stringent deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related field with at least three years progressively responsible financial analyst and or accounting experience. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

Preferred Qualifications: Master's of Business Administration
