Job Description:
Teach a variety of topics in the Criminal Justice Program.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
Knowledge of: on-line instruction techniques and methods; Microsoft Office; Blackboard; internet research. Skill In: providing quality instruction (developmental, multicultural, applied learning) and support to a diverse student body; learning technologies and use of multi-media technology to enhance student learning; instructional planning and presentation; incorporating critical thinking, effective communication, and other general education outcomes in course content. Ability to: perform student learning outcomes assessments; demonstrate teaching strategies that focus on student- centered learning; demonstrate a commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies that aid student success and retention and reflect industry trends; adapt to multi-campus organizational work environments as well as changes in the discipline.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or similar field of study. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s). In addition to these qualifications, applicants must also meet the individual qualifications below in order to be considered for these individual areas:

General Criminal Justice Coursework: Five or more years of experience in law enforcement or some other component of the Criminal Justice System relevant to the specific course(s) being taught.

Distance Learning Courses: Experience of one year or greater in Distance Learning Instruction in Blackboard, WebCT, or other similar platform. Ability and eagerness to respond to students in a timely manner and to deliver rich media content.

Victim Advocacy: Five or more years of victim advocacy or other social service related work experience. The Master's degree requirement can be in social work related fields in addition to criminal justice with the requisite work experience.

Homeland Security: Three or more years of Homeland Security direct or indirect work experience in addition to 2 additional years of other law enforcement or other emergency management work experience. Intelligence experience counts toward this topic area.

Corrections: Five or more years of corrections or probation experience at any level. It is preferred that adjunct faculty in this area have supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications: General Criminal Justice coursework- supervisory experience. Distance Learning Courses- Online course development experience. Ten or more years' experience in any of the Criminal Justice topic areas listed. Master's degree.
