Research Associate - Pathology

The Department of Pathology within the College of Medicine is seeking a Research Associate for the following:

Job Description : Perform independent research projects involving lipid and glucose metabolism as relate to development and/or prevention of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Responsibilities include designing and execution of experiments involving transgenic and knockout mice, the use of cell culture, molecular biology and biochemistry techniques. Duties also include preparation of manuscripts, organization and management of lab personnel and training of students/fellows in the lab. Familiarity with IACUC, Biosafety and Radiation Safety Protocols a plus.

Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor degree in a profession/field r equivalent level of knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or higher (or 5+ years of experience)
  • Vascular biology research experience
  • Small animal surgery experience
  • Cell and molecular biology expertise


This position will be a professional position paid at an hourly rate.
