Major Duties and Responsibilities: Design and supervise the breeding of recombinant/congenic mice, real time and conventional RT-PCR, design and perform ELISAs, purify antibodies, prepare monoclonal antibodies, generate monoclonal antibodies, Isolate cells from pancreatic islets, monitor for Type 1 diabetes, 11 color FACS experiment preparation and analysis, assist in preparation of data for publications, presentations, and grant proposals. Assist in training students and other personnel, work well with other lab personnel, keep track of supplies and re-order when necessary. Use Microsoft Office, Adobe, Excel and a Statistics Program.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Chemistry . Master's degree in Immunology or biological science preferred. Greater than 1 year experience in Immunology laboratory research. Proficiency in 11 color FACS. Experience with NOD diabetic mice preferred.
This position will be a professional position paid at an hourly rate.
