The College of Engineering and Applied Science is looking for a 100% FTE, full-time position. This position will be a Program Manager, and this position will provide support to the Center for Inclusive Excellence and Community Engagement.

The Program Manager, reporting to the Assistant Dean of Inclusive Excellence and Community Engagement is responsible for working collaboratively throughout the college and university to develop and coordinate programmatic and training efforts that foster an inclusive community for a broad range of constituents. The Program Manager will work with student leaders, administrators, faculty, staff and external partners on a robust set of college-wide diversity programming initiatives, such as but not limited to, the emerging ethnic engineers program, educational exhibits, public lectures, and roundtable discussions focused on social, cultural, and political issues. The Program Manager is also responsible for managing the administrative and logistical aspects of the college D&I efforts.

The successful candidate must be a self-starter who possesses strong organizational and administrative skills; strong interpersonal communication skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated marketing and social media skills; computer proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to work independently; and ability to work evenings and weekends.

Duties:
  • Coordinate, implement and market diversity programs, educational exhibits, public lectures, lead/conduct training and professional development sessions and roundtable discussions with internal and external constituents.
  • Collaborate with staff, faculty and students in creative ways to assist them in creating and promoting a welcoming, supportive and inclusive climate within the college.
  • Oversee the creation and delivery of press releases, advertisements and other marketing materials related to Center for Inclusive Excellence and Community Engagement efforts. Engage university and local community on social media.
  • Develop program objectives and monitor quantitative and qualitative data on progress toward objectives.
  • Research and analyze relevant literature, other benchmark information in order to develop grant proposals, new program ideas and propose program changes.
  • Develop, administer and analyze assessment/evaluation questionnaires. Compile statistics and prepare reports.
  • May provide direct supervision to interns and student workers (i.e., hiring, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.)
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need


Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree with three (3) years o experience, Associates degree with five (5) years of experience or seven (7) years of experience. Experience must be in program development or business administration. Experience may require at least one (1) year of supervision.

  • Demonstrated experience in the creation and implementation of diversity and/or educational programs
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity in employment and academia
  • Effective oral, active listening, written, presentation, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse range of constituents
  • High ethics, integrity and confidentiality consistent with the position
  • Experience with budget management and administration
