The College of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time (100% FTE)Program Coordinatorfor the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP). This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff, and all our activities.

Essential Function: Under the supervision of the Assistant Director/Program Director, the program coordinator assists in developing, planning, and oversight of the daily operational activities of the College of Medicine's Medical Scientist Training Program. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a face-paced office environment, values collaboration, is a self-starter and can complete tasks in a detailed yet efficient manner. Candidate will be required to work a few weekends & evenings throughout the year (less than once a month).

Characteristic Duties:
  • Organize and manage day-to-day activities of the MSTP Office to assure efficient and effective office operations. Duties including student correspondence, meeting agendas, meeting minutes, creating reports, completing forms and reviewing applications.
  • Organize, develop and maintain a variety of records and departmental reports, including information of a confidential nature; verify data for accuracy, completeness and compliance with established procedures; input and retrieve data in computer systems as required; maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Coordinate interview schedules, accommodations, tours, lunches, and dinners for recruitment and other events related to the MSTP.
  • Effectively communicate both pre-and post-interview with program applicants.
  • Facilitates personnel processes for MSTP students, including but not limited to: leave of absence, program expectations, curriculum requirements and evaluations.
  • Effectively communicates with team members by sharing knowledge, experience, skills and consults with program staff on a continual basis.
  • Develops MSTP website content and other marketing initiatives to advertise the program nationally
  • Assists in the advising of students.
  • Manages alumni records and alumni outreach.
  • Coordinate trainee activities and events including retreats, journal clubs, and guest speakers.
  • Oversee student travel and submit reimbursements.
  • Develop and recommend new operating procedures.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.


Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor degree with one (1) year of experience; -OR- Associate degree with three (3) years ofexperience; -OR- five (5) years of experience. Experience must be in program coordination.
