Program Coordinator - African American Cultural & Resource Center

Do you have a passion for student development? Do you desire to help students reach their fullest potential? Join the African American Cultural & Resource Center team and help support the student experience at the University of Cincinnati. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to advise and lead our premier first year experience program and center ambassadors.



Under the supervision of the Director of the AACRC, develop and implement major programs and events that are implemented through the African American Cultural & Resource Center. Advise current and prospective students on how to meet their educational and leadership needs.



Responsibilities
  • Assist in program planning/implementation, student advising, development of social skills and assist with the retention efforts of the AACRC. Act as liaison for student activities as well as promote student participation. Assess and analyze programmatic efforts. (30%)
  • Must have excellent written and communication skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access as well as some web management skills.
  • Must have the ability to work in a diverse environment, supervise the development of training of leadership groups.
  • Is responsible for advising the Transitions first year mentoring program, the BASE mentoring program and the BASE Steering Committee. (60%)
  • Must have the ability to collaborate, generate and connect AACRC programs and services with campus and community resources. (10%)



Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor degree with two (2) years of experience; -OR- Associate degree with five (5) years of experience; -OR- seven (7) years of experience. Experience must be in program development and or advising in a college setting.

This position will be a professional position paid at an hourly rate.
