The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS)in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Cincinnati (UC) invites applications for a non-tenure track position at the level of a Professor of Practice to support its educational mission. The primary responsibility will be teaching selected computer engineering and computer science courses to CEAS students at UC.
Primary duties: Course preparation and curriculum development, delivering lectures and instructing laboratories, holding office hours, grading and preparing assessment materials. Additional responsibilities will include participation in service activities and duties assigned by Department Head as needed; such as membership in committees and interaction with External Advisory Board.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidates must have a Masters in the field of Computer Engineering or Computer Science or closely related field prior to effective date of the appointment.
- Candidates must have at least ten (10) years of experience in computer engineering or computer science in government and/or industry.
- Should have a minimum of 2 academic years of experience teaching courses in the following areas: 1) software engineering 2) operating systems 3) network fundamentals 4) network security and cybersecurity
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with expertise and significant amount of work experience in cybersecurity, computer networks, and information assurance and security
Appointment Details: Initial appointment is up to three years and may be renewed. Anticipated work load is six courses per academic year.
