Position Description:
Work activities to be performed in collaboration with Interventional Spine Clinic physicians and healthcare providers in the Department of Radiology
- Understand the indications, alternatives, risks and steps of interventional spine procedures in order to provide this information to patients, family members, referring physicians, physician offices and other healthcare providers
- Perform history and physical examinations prior to procedures performed by PA/NP and members of the Department of Radiology
- Perform informed consent for procedures for outpatient and inpatients
- Perform pre-procedure and post-procedure orders
- Perform history and physical and orders for patients schedule for interventional spine procedures.
- Provide medication reconciliation, prescribing and discharge for outpatient.
- Answer telephone calls from patients regarding clinical procedures
- Screen and evaluate new outpatient procedure requests/referrals with interventional spine physicians
- Perform follow up outpatient visits on patients.
- Become knowledgeable in Epic in regards to interventional spine procedures. to our workflow.
- Assist the interventional spine physician in a fluoroscopic procedure, as needed
Work schedule
- Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 5 pm
Sites of work
- University of Cincinnati Medical Center (UCMC) and West Chester Hospital (WCH)
Qualifications
- Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with certification and licensed to practice in Ohio
- Full prescriptive authority, including controlled substances
- Experience in interventional spine procedures
- Experience in Epic electronic health record system
- ACLS certification will be required
