The College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Health and Disease is looking for a Nurse Practitioner. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities.

Job Summary/Duties : Nurse Practitioner will provide support in the Arrhythmia Clinic to the physician in both a clinic and hospital setting.

Nurse Practitioner will also be responsible for independent clinics, caring for hospitalized Electrophysiology (EP) patients and also care for EP consult patients in the hospital setting. The patient population that the Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for will be those with implanted cardiac devices including pacemakers, ICDs and implantable loop recorders. Titration of antiarrhythmic medications will also be a responsibility.

Procedures that should be conducted include, but are not limited to, Tilt Table Tests, Linq implants, suturing of incisional sites and gaining venous or arterial access prior to EP procedures. Education of fellows/residents/nurses/students about electrocardiograms, device interrogations and programming, ablation procedures and arrhythmia management will be a requirement.

Minimum Qualifications : Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the appropriate agencies; Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the appropriate boards. Must be licensed in the State of Ohio. Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification (ANCC) is preferred, as well as a background in cardiac and electrophysiology nursing. International Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification should be obtained within 5 years of employment.
