Grant Administrator 2 - Sponsored Research Services

The Office of Research Sponsored Research Services Accounting Division is looking for a customer-oriented self-starter to join our team in assisting the University research community. The ideal candidate will be well organized and have the ability to complete work independently, as well as assist others and work together when needed. This position will report to the Director of Sponsored Research Services Accounting Division.

Job Duties
  • Overseeing assigned accounts to ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions, funding agency regulations and Uniform Guidance;
  • Establishing grant accounts in SAP;
  • Preparing accurate invoices/draws and financial reports; processing grant closeouts in a timely manner;
  • Collecting on overdue invoices;
  • Serving as an expert in sponsored administration by providing knowledgeable courteous advice and service to all stakeholders;
  • Demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Working effectively in a team environment;
  • Perform other related duties based on departmental need.


MinimumQualifications: Bachelor degree with two (2) years of experience; - OR- Associate degree and four (4) years of experience; -OR- six (6) years of experience. Degree must be in accounting or related field with related accounting experience. Incumbent must possess the business/fiscal experience to be fully proficient in performing most or all work assignments.

Skill Level: Requires intermediate knowledge of accounting area, including standard accounting principles, terminology, theories and practices; duties are of moderate to high complexity and require a wide range of problem solving; development of practical and thorough solutions, proactive efforts, exploration and adaptation of changing financial systems, identification, evaluation and resolution of routine and non-routine problems; and integration, coordination, and interpretation of fiscal data. Experience and/or training include intermediate to advanced level experience working in one or more fiscal area(s).
