The College of Medicine, Office of Accounting and Finance, is recruiting for a full-time (100% FTE)) Financial Administrator 2 . This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff, and all our activities.

Job Duties: Provide recommendations on financial process-related topics to various departments within the College of Medicine. Conduct or carry out work procedures and activities in accordance with local, state, federal, and university regulations.

Primary duties may include:
  • Coordinate and monitor fiscal administrative activities.
  • Implement policies to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Communicate with departments to complete requisitioning in SAP. Troubleshoot any issue that may arise in order to complete the requisition.
  • Assist and complete Purchasing Card reconciliation.
  • Complete invoicing and deposits within SAP.
  • Request and track labor verifications for funding sources and ensure the labor verification statements are returned in a timely manner.
  • Perform small dollar processing within SAP.
  • Work alongside faculty and staff in order to prepare for asset audits. Complete any changes necessary per the asset program.
  • Review and provide suggestions for individual and group travel authorizations per University guidelines.
  • Generate and analyze financial reports out of SAP.
  • Other duties as assigned by the department.


Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor degree with two (2) years of experience; - OR- Associate degree and four (4) years of experience; -OR- six (6) years of experience; degree must be in accounting or related field with related accounting experience. Incumbent must possess the business/fiscal experience to be fully proficient in performing most or all work assignments.

Ideal Qualifications :Excellent communication and customer service skills; working knowledge of SAP Financials and Business Warehouse reporting; ability to work successfully in a team environment; post-award sponsored administration experience.

Skill Level: Requires intermediate knowledge of accounting area, including standard accounting principles, terminology, theories and practices; duties are of moderate to high complexity and require a wide range of problem solving; development of practical and thorough solutions, proactive efforts, exploration and adaptation of changing financial systems, identification, evaluation and resolution of routine and non-routine problems; and integration, coordination, and interpretation of fiscal data. Experience and/or training include intermediate to advanced level experience working in one or more fiscal area(s).

This position will be a professional position paid at an hourly rate.
