Diversity & Inclusion Director - Lindner College of Business

The Carl H. Lindner College of Business (LCB) is Cincinnati's extraordinary business school. The Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) program is central to the mission of the Lindner College. The College is seeking a dynamic individual to lead our diversity and inclusion efforts. The D&I Director will have broad responsibility for strategic leadership of the program as well as management responsibility for D&I operations, and will report directly to the Dean.

Primary areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
  • Development, implementation and management of the Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) program; leading efforts in policy development and execution that enrich diversity and inclusion in LCB and the university.
  • Advising and collaborating with the LCB Director of Undergraduate Enrollment and Director of Graduate Recruitment on the recruitment and admission of academically prepared students who reflect a wide range of diversity.
  • Overseeing the development, management, growth, and support of targeted recruitment efforts of diverse students by the D&I Program. This would include existing efforts such as the Lindner Summer Institute, Bridge Programs, etc. as well as new initiatives.
  • Working with the D&I Program staff and leaders of the undergraduate and graduate programs on retention and student support efforts that encourage the graduation of academically prepared students who reflect a wide range of diversity. This would include existing efforts such as Business Fellows, Lindner Women in Business, iCats, Out in Business, as well as new initiatives.
  • Working with the Deans, Department Heads, and staff leadership to attract, retain and promote an increased number of historically underrepresented faculty and staff in tenure track and senior leadership positions, respectively.
  • Collaborate with LCB Career Services to foster relationships with corporations for recruiting and placement of diverse students. Participate as needed with external partners that help move the diversity and inclusion efforts forward.
  • Represent the Diversity and Inclusion program in faculty and administrative meetings as well as on committees and advisory boards. Make occasional public presentations on Diversity and Inclusion initiatives. This may include some evenings and both local and occasional out of state travel.
  • Overseeing special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Dean.
  • Providing administrative leadership and supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff; hire, orient, train, mentor and evaluate assigned staff; monitor and coordinate staff development and training programs. Overseeing the budget of the Diversity and Inclusion office.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Highly effective communicator, both in writing and speaking, with an ability to inspire students, faculty, and business partners.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams with department heads, faculty, and staff, as well as with colleagues across the campus community and business community.
  • Ability to focus on actions and outcomes, with a strong level of energy and drive.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize responsibilities.


Minimum Qualifications : Master's degree with five (5) years experience; -OR-Bachelor's degree with seven (7) years experience; -OR- Associate's degree with nine (9) year's experience; -OR- eleven (11) years experience. Experience must be related to areas of responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications :
  • Relevant post graduate degree.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in program development and administration, preferably within a graduate business school/university environment, such that the individual will have recognition and credibility with students, faculty, alumni, and the general business community.
  • A strategic thinker with evidence of successful implementation.
  • Proven marketing and networking talents.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
