The University of Cincinnati's College of Engineering & Applied Science is accepting applications for aDirector of Student Recruitment. This position will be responsible for the oversight and direction of the College's Student Recruitment Center, developing and implementing recruitment strategies, programs, and events targeting students interested in Engineering and Applied Science programs.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and manage recruitment strategies to attract prospective domestic and international undergraduate students
  • Travel throughout Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and other targeted out-of-state and international markets; overseeing 100+ annual on and off-campus events; and managing college presence on social media.
  • Manage outreach to feeder high schools including local high schools offering ENED courses through College Credit Plus.
  • Determine annual enrollment targets for each program balancing both capacity limitations and college budgetary needs. Hold primary responsibility for meeting established targets each year.
  • Formulate holistic admission requirements for incoming students utilizing significant data analysis of success factors in engineering students. Develop procedures for pooling applicants to popular programs and enforce application closures to ensure programs are not over capacity.
  • Monitor admissions offers and enforce policies related to holistic admission requirements.
  • Develop and implement plans to strategically target underrepresented students including women and ethnic minorities.
  • Identify methods to encourage enrollment in undersubscribed programs and limit enrollment in oversubscribed programs.
  • Represent college in admission events both on and off campus, serving as chief spokesperson for the college. Plan and manage execution of weekly College Close-ups and other special events. Collaborate with Department Heads, faculty, and other key individuals to develop programming that meets the needs of prospective students and other visitors.
  • Provide guidance in development and implementation of the UC / Chongqing University Joint Co-op Institute and travel to China for recruitment events.
  • Generate and distribute regular enrollment reports to department heads, deans, and VPs.
  • Manage a full-time staff of four including both exempt and non-exempt workers, plus part-time student workers. Additionally, manage and advise group of 60+ student recruitment volunteers each semester.
  • Serve on university-wide committees as an advocate for CEAS programs and policies.
  • Maintain full responsibility for recruitment budget including money spent on promotional materials, on and off-campus events, and significant recruitment travel to college fairs and high schools.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Masterdegree in a related educational program, student affairs administration or other related field, with five (5) years ofrelevant experience; -OR- Bachelor degree with seven (7) years of relevant experience; -OR- Associate degree with nine (9) years of relevant experience. Experience may also require at least three (3) years of supervision. Ideal candidates will have experience withinternational admissions and/or minority recruitment.
