The University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) seeks an experienced teaching artist with strong leadership and vision to chair its renowned BFA Musical Theatre program. This position is a unique opportunity for a vibrant and forward-thinking artistic leader to join our collaborative faculty and promote innovation and diversity within a well-established program. CCM Musical Theatre, the first of its kind in the nation, consistently recruits from the most talented young musical theatre performers. Our alumni are presently working in all aspects of the industry. The preferred candidate will possess academic and/or professional leadership experience and be ready to focus their energies on educating the next generation of musical theatre artists.

The New York Times has called CCM "one of the nation's leading conservatories." Housed within the Division of Theatre Arts, Production, and Arts Administration (TAPAA), CCM Musical Theatre creates full productions supported by unparalleled design teams and performed with full orchestras.

This full-time, tenure-track position will include teaching courses for the BFA in Musical Theatre (e.g., Acting, Audition Techniques, or Musical Theatre History) and directing productions. Service to the college and university includes membership on various committees, recruiting, and Senior Showcase duties requiring travel within the United States.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must hold a terminal degree in theatre, musical theatre, or have equivalent professional musical theatre experience. A minimum of five years teaching and directing experience at the university and/or professional level is required.

The Department of Musical Theatre is part of the Division of Theatre Arts, Production, and Arts Administration (TAPAA), which has 68 members on its faculty and staff, with numerous undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The TAPAA Division produces a season of three operas, four musicals, four plays, and three dance concerts in three venues: a 663-seat traditional proscenium house and a 373-seat modified thrust and a 125-seat flexible studio theatre.

CCM is one of fourteen colleges within the University of Cincinnati. Ranked as the 10th largest research institution in the country, our beautiful urban campus is home to outstanding academic programs and world-class faculty. The Greater Cincinnati region has a vibrant arts community that consists of three equity houses, an active fringe festival, nationally acclaimed museums, a world class symphony and ballet company.

Salary: Commensurate with rank, qualifications and experience.
