CCM Dance is a program with both a ballet and contemporary dance emphasis for the dancer seeking top-level training and rigorous artistic, academic and studio curriculum. The program offers undergraduate training to students who earn the BFA in Dance Performance, and annually produces a season of two dance concerts (one of which is a story ballet every other year,) and one choreographer's showcase-a festival of student created new works.
Faculty duties will include teaching modern and contemporary dance as well as choreography/composition to motivated dance majors in a professionally oriented BFA program. Other duties include directing, choreographing, restaging or acting as rehearsal assistant for two main stage productions annually, mentoring and advising students, serving on dance and academic committees, and assisting in recruiting, auditioning, and retention of students. Based on this individual's skills, this faculty member may also teach somatic, dance history or other aspects of their specialties.
Department Chair duties will include:
- Management and supervision of dance faculty and staff
- Creation of class schedules and course development
- Artistic season planning
- Long-range strategic planning for department
- Preparation and management of departmental budget
- Oversight of student recruitment and retention
- Other customary administrative duties
Recruiting and conferences may necessitate travel within the US.
Minimum Qualifications: MFA in Dance and professional experience; a minimum of three years prior teaching experience in higher education, conservatory or professional company required.
Preferred Qualifications: The candidate should have the ability to teach a recognized modern technique and/or contemporary dance. Additional expertise and teaching experience in related fields such as dance media/technology, kinesiology/somatic/Laban, dance history, pedagogy, choreography/composition and specialized dance idioms. Previous chair or other leadership experience is a plus.
Salary: Commensurate with rank, qualifications and experience.

Dance Alumni: The CCM Dance Alumni are currently performing with Cincinnati Ballet, Louisville Ballet, Dayton Ballet, Nashville Ballet, Ballet West, Alabama Ballet and many other companies across the country.
Division: CCM Dance is part of the Theatre Arts, Production and Arts Administration Division (TAPAA). The TAPAA Division has approximately 68 on its faculty and staff, with numerous undergraduate and graduate degree programs. TAPAA produces a main stage season of two operas, two musicals and two dramas in two venues: a 663 seat traditional proscenium house and a 373 seat modified thrust. In addition, the division also produces several studio productions in all the performance disciplines in a highly flexible and fully equipped studio theatre.
