Assistant or Associate Professor, Department of Higher Education and Student Affairs. Bowling Green State University’s nationally recognized Department of Higher Education and Student Affairs invites applications for a tenure-track assistant or associate professor position in higher education administration to begin August 2015. To qualify, applicants must have (1) earned a doctorate in higher education, student affairs, or related field by August 2015 (ABD considered); (2) demonstrated record of or potential for scholarly achievement in higher eduction and student affairs; special consideration will be given to proven success in securing extramural funding to support research; (3) demonstrated record of or potential for effective teaching at the graduate level; and (4) ability to work collaboratively with other faculty in joint research and teaching ventures and curriculum development.  Administrative experience in higher education or student affairs is preferred.  The successful candidate will: (1) Teach graduate classes in two or more of the following areas in higher education and student affairs: issues and methods of applied inquiry in higher education, governance and organization of higher education, student development theory, and outcomes of higher education. Preference will be given to candidates who have expertise in quantitative research methods, (2) Develop and pursue a scholarly agenda focused in higher education (and /or) student affairs. (3) Secure extramural funding for research. (4) Direct student research, including doctoral dissertations. (5) Serve as an academic advisor and mentor to masters and doctoral students. (6) Make positive contributions to the service misions of the department, college, university, and the field of igher education and student affairs.
