Assistant Director of Federal Grants & Work-Study

Ohio University is recruiting for an Assistant Director of Federal Grants and Work-Study in the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships. This position will manage the U.S. Department of Education’s federal grants and Federal Work-Study programs, totaling approximately 45 million dollars. This includes monitoring all university Work-Study students’ earnings and bi-weekly program reconciliation. It involves making aid eligibility determinations, managing position postings and approvals, and working with the Grants Accounting office for payroll corrections and reconciliation. Grant management includes monitoring disbursement and reporting to the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) system. This requires collaboration with the Office of the Bursar and Information Technology. 


This position supervises one classified staff member who is responsible for day-to-day award review of grant programs and COD updates.


This position also counsels students and parents in all facets of financial aid. Participates in presentations and outreach for financial aid, recruitment, and/or enrollment management initiatives.


Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, excellent verbal and written communication, and management experience. A Master’s degree in Higher Education or a similar field as well as experience managing a large program and progressive experience in a financial aid office are preferred.
