Visiting Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering

Scope:
The appointment will be made at the level of Visiting Lecturer or Visiting Assistant Professor, commensurate with experience.

Candidates with any specialty area within mechanical engineering will be considered. A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanics, Material Science, or Engineering Education (with a prior degree in mechanical engineering), or a related field is preferred, ABD is acceptable. Industry experience, teaching experience, and professional licensure will be viewed favorably. Candidates should be committed to advancing the knowledge and practice of engineering education pedagogy.

Required Skills:
Applicants from any specialty area within mechanical engineering will be considered. The applicant must be committed to teaching excellence in undergraduate education and must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Teaching of introductory, college-wide courses (such as Introduction to Engineering, Statics, Dynamics, etc.) as well as upper-level mechanical engineering courses is expected. ONU is part of the Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network and is committed to instilling the entrepreneurial mindset in our undergraduate engineering students.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanics, Material Science, or Engineering Education (with a prior degree in mechanical engineering), or a related field is preferred, ABD is acceptable.

Preferred Qualifications:
Industry experience, teaching experience, and professional licensure will be viewed favorably.
