Visiting Assistant Professor of Education

Job Summary:
Responsible for teaching courses in the education department; mentoring students.

Scope:
One-Year Visiting Assistant Professor.

Principal Responsibilities
- Primarily teaching science, mathematics, possibly social studies methods courses for early childhood, middle childhood, and AYA .
- Supervising field experiences, and student teaching supervision.
- Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:
- Excellence in teaching, good interpersonal skills, and good organizational skills
- The ability to mentor students both inside and outside of the classroom.

Minimum Qualifications:
Masters' degree in appropriate field, 3 years of teaching experience in PK-12 settings.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree in appropriate field or doctoral coursework
- 5 years of teaching experience in PK-12 settings
- CPAST training
- Knowledge of the edTPA
