Applications are being accepted for the following vacancy on the Non-teaching Professional staff at the Capital District Educational Opportunity Center, which provides vocational and academic training to economically and educationally disadvantaged adults.
Program Coordinator EOC-NTP-101
Description of Vacant Position: The Program Coordinator provides academic leadership that includes the supervision of faculty, the development and/or assessment of curriculum, and the potential for teaching a range of courses for up to 15 hours.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Education or related field preferred; significant teaching experience, ideally in a common core area including mathematics, reading, or language skills; and two years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Strong demonstrated knowledge in working with adults in non-traditional education; and a strong background integrating technology into teaching.
Please note: Position may include periodic evening assignments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide academic leadership for instructional programs (both academic and vocational);
- Teach up to fifteen classroom hours a week;
- Provide day-to-day guidance, leadership, supervision, evaluation, and consultation with the faculty members assigned to the Program Coordinator to insure that curricula and course objectives are being realized;
- Ensure that faculty members are meeting the requirements that facilitate the smooth running of their programs including monthly student reports, student attendance, etc.
- Support program development; and,
- Implement, where applicable, the terms and provisions of the collective bargaining agreement covering teaching faculty.
