Assistant/Associate Professor (tenure-track) - Biology

 

The Department of Biology at Syracuse University seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in Genomics at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. This recruitment is part of an ambitious Invest Syracuse Cluster Hire Initiative in the broad area of Genomics, Bioinformatics, Data Sciences and Business Analytics. As an integral part of this investment, Syracuse University will recruit multiple faculty for a research cluster in the focus area of Genomics and Bioinformatics. Faculty hired into these positions will join an interactive group of biologists with strengths in evolutionary genetics, genomics, epigenetics and reproductive biology and will participate in an organized research cluster that spans multiple departments in the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Engineering and Computer Science and Falk College. The Department of Biology also has strong research and education ties to the adjacent Upstate Medical University and the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. The candidate is expected to develop a vigorous externally-funded research program and participate in graduate and undergraduate teaching and mentoring in the areas of his or her expertise. Candidates must have a PhD, preferably in biology, and a record of productive research experience at the postdoctoral level. Competitive salary, start-up funds, and laboratory space will be provided.
