Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Student Diversity Programs is a full-time, 12-month position. As a member of Campus Life & Engagement Team within the division of Student Affairs, the Assistant Director will assist the Director of Student Diversity Programs with the daily operations of the Office of Student Diversity Programs (OSDP). This position exists to provide and market opportunities for students to participate in diversity and cultural programming that are consistent with student development and cultural identity theory based learning outcomes. The Assistant Director is responsible for creating, implementing, marketing, and assessing diversity program initiatives as well as developing and implementing cross-cultural programming for all students with an emphasis on sexuality and gender identity with an intersectional and global lens. This position requires flexibility to work nights and weekends. The Assistant Director serves as a co-advisor for OSDP clubs and organizations, assists in the creation and advising of a peer diversity training and advocacy organization and is responsible for the direct supervision of OSDP Student Team Members/student staff under federal work-study position requirements. This position works in partnership with colleagues within Student Affairs and across the College to enhance a growing sense of community by fostering students' awareness and appreciation of differences on a diverse campus.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related/similar field. Other ideal qualifications are: Strong understanding of sexuality and gender identity college student development with an intersectional and global context. Proven experience working with ethnically and culturally diverse students or populations preferably in a college or university setting. Demonstrated program development, event planning and management experience. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop, implement, and interpret policies and procedures. Ability to offer consultation to colleagues surrounding diversity and LGBTQ related issues. Capacity to interact effectively with individuals at all levels. Knowledge of standard office applications.

A collaborative and team building approach. Knowledge of presentation and assessment based programs (e.g. PowerPoint, Qualtrics, Google Forms, Survey Monkey); comfortable with the use of technology including Microsoft Office applications, publication software, and social media.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related/similar field. At least 2 years experience in the field.
