Position Summary and ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Director of Web Strategy and Development, the Associate Director is responsible for leading the design and technical portion of the total range of Vassar's web presence. The Associate Director coordinates the work of a web designer, a web developer, a front-end developer, and external providers as needed.

Project management
  • Work in Asana to assure assigned projects are successfully entered and tracking to completion by the specified due dates
  • Identify potential problems, issues, and anomalies
  • Provide interim analytics as needed
  • Provide weekly updates of progress at the web team meetings

Communications and project development
  • Work with other offices, departments, and off-campus constituencies to identify and meet campus needs, including the Admissions office.
  • Coordinate resources within the web team and Communications department as needed to move projects forward

Web Updates
  • Monitor web update requests to ensure that responses are addressed, if not completed, within 24 hours


Qualifications
Proven ability to implement and manage processes and workflows. At least 5 years of project management and development required; higher educational context preferred. Familiarity with ASANA programs as well as the latest relevant technologies Demonstrated ability to manage a web team and processes. Ability to provide excellent management and leadership to the web team and work collaboratively with staff, management, campus clients, and IT support Ability to manage personal and team workloads effectively Excellent time management and organizational skills Experience using Admissions communication applications such as Slate and MailChimp required Proven experience in a fast-paced and changing environment Proven experience with design applications including Adobe Creative Suite Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility, JavaScript and jQuery Demonstrated success and experience with web development in a CMS environment required Knowledge of information architecture/usability standards Strong knowledge of responsive web design required Ability to assist in the develop of strategic, and tactical, solutions and processes for web development
