Student Activities Assistant

Campus Life at SUNY Potsdam is accepting on-line applications for a full-time Student Activities Assistant (Program Coordinator).  The mission of Campus Life is to provide activities, programs, and facilities to help cultivate a positive outside of classroom environment that promotes student involvement, learning, and personal development.  The Program Coordinator will provide support to the Director and Assistant Director through:  assisting in the coordination, development, and implementation of a late night student activities program that provides regular activities on Friday and Saturday; assisting in the coordination and implementation of student leadership programs; serving as a resource and liaison to student leaders in clubs and organizations on campus; providing coverage as needed to support large-scale events; coordinating student staff recruitment, selection and training processes; assisting in the supervision of student staff programming efforts; developing high quality multi-media marketing to promote office events and initiatives; serving as part of a team to implement overall office functions; successfully collaborating with campus partners to promote a welcoming and inclusive environment.  Additionally, the person in this position will be expected to possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues.  Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree, significant experience in large-scale event planning on a college campus, significant experience as a student leader within the college environment, excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent marketing and digital design skills coupled with a strong background in a variety of software programs, and ability to regularly work non-traditional hours including late nights and weekends.  Preferred Qualifications:  Master’s Degree in higher education or related field, 2-4 years of professional experience in a college environment, and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suites programs.  To apply visit employment.potsdam.edu, job posting U-00131.  Applications reviewed as received and position is open until filled.
