CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The City University of New York (CUNY) has established NYC's first public and collaborative School of Public Health (SPH), with a focus on urban health, chronic disease prevention and management, population aging and health equity. The CUNY SPH is a consortium of the public health programs at Hunter, Brooklyn, and Lehman Colleges, and the Graduate Center.The CUNY SPH offers an ABET-accredited IH MS degree program as well as a CEPH-accredited MPH degree program at the Hunter College Campus. It also offers a DPH program in EOH at the Graduate Center.

The CUNY SPH at Hunter College seeks a Professor who will lead the EOHS MS and MPH Programs. Candidates should have a solid track record in research, program management, and/or teaching in environmental health, environmental science, industrial hygiene or a related field, and an interest in playing a leadership role in the EOHS MS and MPH programs. This tenure-track appointment at the rank of Professor (or at a rank commensurate with experience) will be made at Hunter College, beginning January 2012. Responsible for directing the EOHS MS and MPH programs, including establishing an active research program; administering the academic programs; and coordinating with other school- and college-wide bodies. Some teaching is expected.

Responsibilities include:
- Directing, managing and developing the EOHS MS and MPH programs.
- Coordinating with and providing support to the EOH DPH program.
- Leading and seeking funding with interdisciplinary research teams that will conduct community-based studies of urban environmental and occupational health issues.
- Teaching graduate courses in EOHS and helping to develop new courses, as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of expertise, or equivalent as noted below. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, interest in productive scholarship or creative achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctorate in environmental health or science, public health or a closely related field
- Research experience in environmental health or science, public health or other related discipline
- Successful grant portfolio and peer-reviewed publications
- Proven record in academic program development and management is essential
- Previous academic experience or teaching at the graduate or doctoral level
- Research, programmatic and/or teaching experience in urban environmental and occupational health issues is a plus

COMPENSATION
Commensurate with qualifications and experience within the salary range for the title ($68,803 - $109,087).
