The Human Capital Management Program in the Division of Programs in Business at NYU’s School of Professional Studies is looking to fill a full-time renewable clinical faculty position for the 2018-2019 Academic Year, effective fall 2018 or spring 2019.
 
NYU’s internationally recognized M.S. in Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD) prepares students for a successful leadership career in the field of Human Resource Management and Development. The program provides a strong curricular foundation designed to anticipate and address the needs of leaders, teams and organizations in the 21century economy. Students master the foundations of the diverse HR functional areas and choose to specialize in one of four concentrations— Human Resources Management, Organizational Effectiveness, Global Talent Management and Coaching, Learning and Development.
 
Job Description
This full-time position is a clinical, one-year renewable faculty appointment. The rank of the position will be determined dependent on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
 
A successful candidate will work closely with the Academic Director to develop and deliver impactful and engaging course work as well as the new MS programs in the Human Capital Management domain.  Additionally, a successful candidate will be expected to perform the following responsibilities:
 

  • Advance thought leadership through applied industry research
  • Build industry relationships and partnerships to enhance the program’s connection to the workplace
  • Support the growth and development of adjunct faculty base
  • Contribute collaboratively to the advancement of the Division’s, Schools and NYU’s mission and strategy. 

 
 Along with direct teaching responsibilities, a successful candidate will be expected to act as an advocate for the program, assisting at orientation and information events, serving on committees, advising students, and building relationships and programs within NYU SPS and with other NYU schools.
 
Qualifications
A PhD, or equivalent degree, in Human Resources Management or a related discipline is preferred, with a minimum degree of MBA, M.S. or other related Master’s program, plus 8-10 years working experience.
 
The ideal candidate will be able to lead in the creation of intellectual capital around topic areas directly relevant to Human Resources Management practitioners, which could be applied through classroom teaching, publication in business or academic journals, industry conferences and partnerships.  Experience and research in the areas of Strategic Human Capital Management, Talent Management, People Analytics and Technology, Coaching and Organizational Consulting would be desirable, as would be experience in curriculum, course, and program development.
