Associate Professor/Professor of Professional Prac

The School of Professional Studies (SPS) at Columbia University invites applications for full-time positions at the rank of Associate Professor of Professional Practice or Professor of Professional Practice in the discipline of Sports Management. This position may begin on January 1, 2018 or July 1, 2018. This is a full-time appointment with multi-year renewal contingent on successful review.
 

The successful candidate will teach courses in one or more of the following areas: marketing, sports law and ethics, global sports, analytics and/or digital media in sports. 

The successful candidate may be asked to serve in an administrative capacity for the MS program. Responsibilities include leading programmatic and curricular development efforts, professional development opportunities for students, and strategic planning for the program, such as marketing, enrollment, student life, and alumni affairs. 

The successful candidate will hold a master's degree in sports management, business, finance, law, marketing, analytics, or another area related to sports management and exhibit a commitment to excellence in teaching, mentoring, instructional design, and professional practice and/or scholarship. 
 

The ideal candidate will hold a doctoral degree, terminal degree, or its professional equivalent in business, finance, law, marketing, analytics, or related fields in the discipline. 


Experience teaching in a graduate program or teaching mid-career professionals preferred.  


The rank of Associate Professor of Professional Practice is appropriate for individuals who have a demonstrated record of achievement in professional practice and teaching, and show great promise of attaining distinction in their field of specialization.

The rank of Professor of Professional Practice is appropriate for individuals who are widely recognized for their distinction in their field of specialization.
