Graduate Admission Assistant, School of Education


Title: Graduate Admission Assistant

Department: Graduate Admission School of Education

Position Summary:

The Graduate Admission Assistant reports to the Associate Director of Graduate Admission, School of Education and is a member of the graduate admission staff. This position serves as a liaison to prospective students, applicants, and admitted student s. The role is charged with fostering effective correspondence with faculty, will respond to prospective students' inquiries both on and off campus, and serve as the front-line for applicant services, application review, and communication in The Office of Graduate Admission, School of Education.

Responsibilities:
  • Front line customer services representative for student inquiries and applicants. Must answer phone and emails consistently and follow up between 24-48 hours.
  • Describe program opportunities with prospective students and coordinate recruitment events or attend them on behalf of SOE Graduate Admission. Record feedback about events for future assessment.
  • Communication to student applicants regarding the status of their application. Calculate student undergraduate GPA and other application requirements needed for review and decision.
  • Deliver drip mail campaigns
  • Deliver ADHOC Reports as requested.
  • Record student application status in Banner, Hyperion, Workflow and SLATE products
  • Knowledge of operations products and processor task list in absence of Admission Coordinator.
  • Maintain coordination with faculty about student application status and program updates.
  • Supports the admission department at events, including occasional evening and weekend events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years related experience, preferably 5 years
  • High School Diploma (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • Must be organized
  • Ability to Multi task
  • Ability to work alone and with others
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge in Banner, Workflow, EFC, Recruit, Excel
  • Previous administrative experience preferred in this area.
