Title: Department Assistant

Department: Office of the Registrar

Campus: Staten Island

Responsibilities:

  • Run audits for graduation, mailings, etc as requested by dean's office, student life, Registrar's Office and Vice Provost Office
  • Run Buildings & Room Reports on weekly basis until room changes have stopped
  • Create reports specific to the SI Campus needs as requested.
  • Print Graduation audits to ensure that the degrees awarded have been confirmed by the college offices
  • Enter the honors on students' records
  • Run audits, order diplomas, order diploma cases, review Commencement book, etc.
  • Provide support to the Office of Enrollment Services as needed
  • Check registration for students with special needs to ensure accommodations are in place
  • Clean up the graduating students' records to be sure their transcripts are accurate
  • Ensure that all courses have room assignments
  • Make any changes for handicapped students/professors
  • Process room change requests
  • Continue to process any changes to the course offerings
  • Assist with Open House, Accepted Student Days
  • Process the rollover course offerings into Banner, and assign rooms
  • Enter all the College Advantage students into the system
  • Make any necessary corrections to student records in preparation for the freeze
  • Research hard records for Clearinghouse submission
  • Register Senior Citizens for audit classes
  • Handle Work Flow for SI on a daily basis
  • Process mail-in or faxed-in requests for transcripts for both Queens and SI on a daily basis Prepare any specialized letter/form requests that cannot be accessed
    from the web
  • Address walk-in requests and all counter and telephone inquiries
  • Collaborate with dean's offices regarding student related issues
  • Assist students in accessing web accessible information
  • Stamp and send student forms for scanning
  • Process unmatched records in the Electronic Filing Cabinet
  • Train and supervise student workers


Qualifications:
  • High School degree required, Bachelor's preferred
  • Up to 1 year experience in professional environment
