The Division of Sport Management is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor of Sport Management commencing September 1, 2018.

The Division of Sport Management delivers a BS in Sport Management as well as a Master of Professional Studies (MPS) in Sport Management. Faculty focus on key areas of skill development that include critical thinking, oral and written expression, team membership, leadership and employment readiness. Responsibilities: This is a teaching-intensive position (9 to 12 credit hours per semester) with opportunities for research reductions after the first academic year. Research productivity is important, but secondary to teaching excellence and a strong commitment to student engagement. Division faculty are expected to participate in academic advisement, student mentoring, academic assessment, and other activities as required by the Chair and/or Dean.

Qualifications: Ideal candidates will possess a doctorate in sport management, have experience teaching undergraduate sport management classes as the instructor of record, and exhibit the potential for research productivity. Area of expertise is open, but strong preference is for candidates with research and teaching experience in sport law and/risk management. Preference will be given to candidates that have experience teaching graduate courses, have a record of publications in peer-reviewed journals, and/or possess relevant industry experience.

Candidates should be familiar with technology-supported learning pedagogy and be able to integrate technology into their teaching pedagogy.
