St. John's University Department of Pharmacy Administration & Public Health has an opening for a full-time 12-month position for the Community Health track in our MPH program. We are seeking qualified candidates with an expertise in one or more areas of emerging, cross-cutting community health issues including non-communicable and communicable disease, epidemiology, mental health, social and behavioral health, injury prevention and control, environmental health, planning and evaluation, access to health care, outcomes research, health economics, food and drugs. Candidates will have research focused on at-risk, marginalized or vulnerable populations such as children, women, elderly, and rural and urban populations. Knowledge of and skills with qualitative and/or quantitative software packages is preferred. St. John's University MPH Program strives to address Community Health through ecological and structural approach to understand and address social determinants of health, health disparities and health equity, with a unique mission on social justice and poverty prevention as part of its Vincentian, Catholic, and Global mission.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Ph.D., DrPH and/or other relevant terminal degree in a directly related field. Candidates with a strong commitment to in class and on-line teaching are encouraged to apply. Appointment at the Assistant and Associate level requires demonstrated ability to conduct independent research in community health and publish results, and demonstrated experience in mentoring and consultation.

Responsibilities for the Community Health track position include teaching MPH courses, conducting and disseminating original research on community health, advising and mentoring MPH students, serving on Program and University committees, and participating in program assessment activities. Salary is commensurate with skills and experience.

Established in 2013, the MPH Program is a 45-credit program that enrolls highly qualified students within specialty tracks of Community Health and Global Health. Students are expected to complete the MPH on a full-time basis in two years by taking courses for five consecutive semesters or on a part-time basis within five years.
