Assistant Professor - Tenure Track (Medicinal Chemistry)

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at St. John's University, NY invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in medicinal chemistry starting Fall 2018. An earned Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry or related area is required and post-doctoral experience is preferred.

Responsibilities include establishing an active research program in medicinal chemistry that will attract external funding, mentoring students, and teaching graduate and undergraduate students in Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences. All fields of medicinal chemistry will be considered with a preference for candidates with expertise in bioconjugate chemistry and immunotherapeutics. An excellent startup package is provided by the University and a large fraction of the department's graduate students are supported by graduate assistantships, teaching fellowships and university fellowships.

The Department has 37 faculty with research interests in medicinal chemistry, toxicology, pharmacology, industrial pharmacy/pharmaceutics. The Department offers both the MS and Ph.D. degrees. Modern instrumentation and AAALAC-accredited facilities are available.
