Assistant Director Partner Relations - Office of Global Programs

Job Description:


The Office of Global Programs at St. John's University is seeking an Assistant Director of Partner Relations. Reporting to the Manager of OGP Fiscal Affairs, the Assistant Director for Partner Relations (AD) is directly responsible for partner cultivation and revenue generation. As part of this work, the AD: recruits visiting students for study abroad programs; manages all "bed rental" clients for the Rome & Paris campuses; seeks new visiting student and bed rental partners; provides direct student support-from application through pre-departure-for visiting students; and serves as the chief client relationship manager for all partners.

Responsibilities for the Office of Global Studies:

  • Reach out to targeted U.S. colleges and universities to learn about their study abroad needs and introduce them to SJU through in-person meetings, at conferences, and via email, phone, and mailngs.
  • Work in conjunction with multiple departments within SJU (both domestically and internationally) to look for opportunities to generate new partnerships.
  • Attend study abroad fairs, campus visits and present at info sessions to promote OGS programs at potential partner schools.
  • Create and implement business/marketing plan for selling surplus bed/classroom capacity abroad.
  • Manage all aspects of ongoing direct-to-student external marketing through a variety of additional methods (e.g., website updates, cold calls, fairs and direct mail or email campaigns, social media).
  • Develop and maintain information for external websites (e.g., studyabroad.com, diversityabroad.com, iiepassport.com) including up-to-date information on facility features and program offerings.
  • Serve as primary liaison to external partners and provide best-in-class customer service and support, by ensuring that partners' individual needs are respected and managed.
  • Benchmark other program providers and professional organizations regularly to ensure that STJ follows or exceeds best practices.
  • Work with other OGS and university-wide units on all aspects of pre-departure and student support, including orientations, registration, forms submission, grade entry & transcript fulfillment.


Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years in the field of international education.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required; knowledge of Access and Banner are preferred
  • This position requires travel within the United States and overseas
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Recruitment, marketing, and or sales experience preferred.
  • Comfortable working both independently and in a team environment, within and across departments
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in conjunction with a heavy travel schedule
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Experience studying or living abroad preferred
