Associate Director, Reunion Campaigns & Volunteers

The Associate Director for Reunion Campaigns and Volunteers manages a comprehensive development program for Reunion Classes, as well as a program for class-based volunteers working to support annual giving. In collaboration with the Director of Annual Giving, set participation and dollar goals for classes up to the 50th Reunion, tracking and reporting on the same throughout the year. The Associate Director works collaboratively with Annual Giving colleagues and the 50th Reunion manager, and directly manages the 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th and 35th Reunion Classes. Serves as department liaison with Alumni/Alumnae Relations for overall Reunion plans, and develops strategies for boosting Reunion giving and participation. Working with advancement colleagues, the Associate Director oversees and takes ownership of the recruitment, training, development, engagement and growth of the class-based volunteer program, with the ultimate goal of building engagement and securing annual support. The Associate Director holds own prospect pool, completing 75 face-to-face visits to cultivate and solicit leadership annual gifts, with yearly goals for visitation and outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create annual plan of work for the position.
  • Oversee and support all Reunion campaigns managed by the Annual Giving team. Develop and manage appropriate Reunion reporting tools (attendance, giving, and engagement).
  • In collaboration with Advancement colleagues, manage, organize and execute schedule of Reunion class-based solicitations and classmate calling/outreach campaigns.
  • Has direct management of the 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th, and 35th Reunion classes. Accountable for meeting dollar and participation goals for assigned Reunion classes.
  • Create and oversee the process to identify, enlist, and manage alumni/alumnae class-based volunteer leadership, including training and support, for peer-to-peer fundraising in Reunion and, secondarily, non-Reunion years.
  • Manage collaborative process, with Alumni/Alumnae Relations and Annual Giving colleagues, to convert non-donor alums with high engagement scores to annual donors.
  • Create and update Reunion volunteer support resources, including those online.
  • Work collaboratively with the Office of Communications and the Assistant Director for On-Campus Initiatives to execute a comprehensive Reunion marketing plan, including all direct mail, e-marketing pieces and social media.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Annual Giving and the Leadership Gifts team to ensure successful management of assigned prospects in Reunion years.
  • Be an active participant in planning and executing strategies to achieve overall Annual Giving goals.
  • Assume other duties as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of fundraising and/or higher educational experience, with strong organizational skills and ability to work with and motivate volunteers for fundraising initiatives is desired. The successful candidate should possess excellent oral and listening communications skills, and have the capacity to communicate persuasively in writing.

OTHER INFORMATION:

This is a full-time, 12-month, benefits-eligible administrative salaried position. Normal campus office hours of work are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the academic year with a possible shortened workweek during the scheduled summer hours. Some evening and weekend work will be required.he salary is competitive and is negotiable depending on the strength of qualifications. This position is not all-inclusive, as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned.
