Counselor/ Per diem

Per Diem Counselor (flexible schedule 12-20 hours per week, per semester).
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing short-term and on-going individual and group counseling.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Provide on-going individual and group counseling.
Handle clinical evaluations of students.
Responsible for crisis intervention.
Provide supervision of counseling center interns.
Responsible for outreach and preventative clinical programs for students, faculty, residence hall staff and other college community groups.
Take part in workshop series.
Maintain records and statistics.
Remain abreast of NY State and national legal and ethical policies for counselors and counseling center.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
Experienced in short-term dynamic, solution focused and or/CBT therapy with the college population.
Ability to be organized and pay attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Experience providing culturally competent treatment to diverse and underserved populations

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Master's of Social Work or Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, New York State clinical license, and three-year's post license clinical experience required. Previous experience working with college population strongly preferred.
